Local restaurants can use your support

By Abby Ramirez

As the number of available ICU beds in Los Angeles County hospitals decreases due to further spreading of COVID-19, the county’s Department of Health announced that limiting potential crowding is necessary to regain control over the rising number of cases. As a result, restaurants around the city were forced to close both indoor and outdoor dining for three weeks.

Restaurants are still permitted, however, to resume pick-up and delivery services. Many of these restaurants are still struggling from previous Stay-at-Home orders as well as extra measures to keep patrons safe and therefore need more business.

Although you can no longer eat at your favorite restaurants, there are still many ways you can support local businesses and enjoy their food. To enhance your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, consider bringing your take-out order to a local park and have a picnic with your family. If you miss your friends, consider tailgating with them and enjoying your food six feet apart in your own cars. If eating at home is most comfortable for you, planning an outdoor dinner in your backyard with candles and decorations is a great way to make the best of this situation.

Although we all crave the normalcy that comes with dining at restaurants, we must learn to adapt yet again. Restaurant owners and workers strive to give us the best food and experience possible and now we need to give back and help them.

Here are some local restaurants and coffee shops that can use your support in these trying times:
