Congratulations to the 2021-2022 Academic Decathlon team for their impressive first place win in the National Academic Decathlon Competition.
The school invited the community and press to a celebration of the team on Thursday May 12 in front of the school. The celebration included speeches from coaches, students, and Executive Director Brian Bauer.
Nine students competed to bring the school the now expected glory: Zainab Al-Atya, Lily Fairbank-Bermejo, Vivian Le, Vanessa Miller, Kira Pospeshil, Matthew Salcedo, Colby Sapera, Garrett Scott and Mason Wong.
Students competed by taking multiple-choice exams, writing essays, and delivering speeches on a wide variety of subjects such as literature and the arts, science, economics, and more.
This year’s central theme was water.
Our school is very proud of these students as well as their advisers for their dedication and hard work that brings honor to the entire GHC community.
