From April 22 to 25, the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) department presented its annual spring semester art show for students and families to explore in Highlander Hall. This exhibition is especially popular during Open House, spotlighting students’ creativity and their hard work VAPA department’s courses and teachers. unveiling various student creations and a wide range of art mediums that the department has to offer. Let’s take a look at some creations featured in the showcase:
CP Advanced/CP Ceramics: Students created clay sculptures, using hand-building and pottery techniques–later combined with precise surface design and decoration. CP Drawing 1: Students learned advanced drawing techniques, including stippling, shading, and contour, allowing them to create realistic illustrations of objects, faces, and locations.AP Studio Art/Drawing: In this course, students focus on compiling college-level art for their portfolios. They familiarize themselves with two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and drawing art compositions.International Baccalaureate (IB) Arts: There were various art mediums made by IB students, including photography and sculptures. CP Filmmaking: Various motion picture posters were recreated by students, using editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.VAPA Teachers: All of the pieces displayed at the showcase were made possible with the guidance of VAPA teachers; StefaniThomas, Julie Neumann, and Emmanuel Crespo, along with student teacher, Jillian Shay.
