The animation studio Science Saru has officially animated the manga series, “Dandadan.” The studio has awakened a sense of excitement within the anime community, as fans of the original manga series already love the anime adaptation.
“Dandadan” was released on Crunchyroll and Netflix on October 4. The series has already gained popularity across both streaming platforms. The series is still ongoing with a new episode every Thursday with the finale airing on December 19.
The series, based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga, follows Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura who are from different worlds. Ayase is outgoing and fiery, while Takakura is reserved and nerdy. They clash over their personal beliefs, leading them to challenge one another in an exploration., However, during their search, they encounter bizarre entities, such as Turbo Granny, and gain supernatural powers.
Only seven episodes have been released, yet the series has gained a lot of support. People are fascinated by the show because of its storytelling, vibrant animation, and humor.
“I love that they came out with an anime for Dandadan,” senior Mia Lopez said. “I come home from school every Thursday night ready to watch it.”
The series does a great job of combining the genres of sci-fi and comedy creating a well-thought-out storyline where relatable characters come together to face supernatural encounters, producing an intriguing plot. All these elements keep fans entertained and encourage them to continue watching.
“Everything about the show is just amazing,” senior David Aguilar said. “I love the animation style and just its overall story is great. I definitely recommend others watch it.”
With other anime series and mangas coming to an official end like “Attack on Titan,” “Jujutsu Kaisen,” and “My Hero Academia.” the arrival of “Dandadan” has revived the anime community. Its fans can’t wait to see how the series unfolds and hope for a possible second season.
