Granada Hills Charter (GHC) hosted its annual College Fair on Saturday, March 22 on the school blacktop. The fair provided students, parents, and community members with the opportunity to meet with college representatives from colleges near and far. This gave families the ability to make more informed decisions about higher education options.

There were over 100 colleges and universities represented at the College Fair. Many of the UCs and CSUs were represented as well as private schools and out of state schools. The Fair also hosted other organizations such as CalKids, The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, the Los Angeles Fire Department, and several armed services representatives.

“I think that it was really beneficial because I found a college that I would want to go to, and I found a program that other colleges do not have,” junior Ethan Michaels said. “It was a really nice event.”

The College Fair featured workshops ranging from focuses on majors to financial aid opportunities to college athletics. These workshops provided helpful information regarding different college and career opportunities as well as the process of applying to college. Those who attended the workshops were able to directly engage with college and university representatives.

“It’s great seeing the livelihood of the students asking in-depth questions about our schools,” University of Montana Western representative Jenny Fox said.

The College Fair also provided opportunities to learn about future careers. There were several Los Angeles organizations such as the Airport Police Department, the Fire Department, the Parks and Recreation Department in attendance. The armed services including the United States Navy, the United States Air Force Academy, and West Point Military Academy who met with our community as well.

The College Fair is just one of the many activities that GHC engages in bringing students to the doorstep of higher education and professional opportunities. Altogether, the 2025 College Fair gave students and parents a valuable platform upon which to explore educational opportunities, receive information on the admissions process, and establish relationships with institutions to which they will be applying.
