Venture to these Valley hang-outs for entertainment

By Victoria Navarro

People constantly drive an hour or two away from the San Fernando Valley in order to ensure that they have a good time with their friends and family. However, there are many hang-out places close by for people to enjoy.

GameHäus Café

Take a step away from modern gaming systems such as the computer, PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U, and visit Los Angeles’ first board game café located at Seeley Studios in Glendale. With the low fee of $5 per person, customers can gain access to nearly 900 different board or card games.

Best of all, the store has no restriction on time, allowing people to play games all day from the time the store opens to the time it closes.

The café offers a variety of games from all genres ranging from the classics like Scrabble and Monopoly to European board games such as Catan and Carcassonne.

Also, while you play, you can order from the café that has many savory and sweet dishes to offer. However, on weekends, reservations may be needed for large groups of attendees as the café can get crowded. Nonetheless, the café is spacious and creates a comfortable environment for customers to play all kinds of games.

The Village at Topanga

The Village, located right across from the Topanga Mall in Canoga Park, is filled with an energetic and fun vibe. The attraction includes art stores as well as food and clothing shops. The Village has a place for almost anyone, whether they are food addicts, athletes, or artists.

Since outdoor malls are not usually found in the valley, it is definitely an area to visit with friends. The open-air mall is similar to The Grove and the Americana at Brand, however it is mainly geared towards restaurants where you can either sit down at a table or pick up a meal and leave.

Carnival Karaoke

Sing your heart out for hours at Carnival Karaoke in Van Nuys. You and your friends can rent a karaoke booth, ranging from $25 to $50 per hour with a songlist containing a plethora of genres, but primarily being geared towards Korean or American pop songs.

Also, the room includes a menu in which you can order different snacks and drinks  to be delivered directly to your room. Carnival Karaoke does not close until 2:00 a.m. therefore, you can have the time of your life by singing the night away.
