On January 29, 2015, I attended Smith’s U.S. tour concert at The Forum in Inglewood. The concert was amazing and his heartfelt appreciation for his fans came through in his performance. The atmosphere was lively and the crowd sang along to almost all of the songs.
His most popular song, “Stay With Me,” made the crowd go wild, and Smith stood on stage for a minute, taking in the atmosphere, appreciating every single second of the moment. His set list consisted of some of his popular songs, such as “Latch” and “Not the Only One,” but also some of his less popular songs, like “Lay Me Down” and “Make It to Me.”

In June 2014 in an issue of The FADER, Smith came out to the public about being gay.
