The falling leaves on the trees outside our windows indicate the arrival of Autumn. All we can think about is making ourselves comfortable on the sofa while we cover ourselves in blankets and drink our pumpkin spice lattes waiting for some of our favorite shows to premiere. Here are a few of the most anticipated shows returning or premiering this season which you should consider when cuddling on the couch in front of the television.

Scream Queens

Director Ryan Murphy has a reputation for creating unique shows that are sure to capture viewers’ attentions. Murphy’s dedication and passion for his newest project “Scream Queens” is obvious as the show has quickly become popular, especially amongst the targeted audience,  young adults.

With an all-star cast including Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, Lea Michele, and Emma Roberts, “Scream Queens” is almost guaranteed to compel viewers to continue watching the rest of the season even if they do so merely to support the actors.

The show revolves around various murders that involve the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority. The plot twists further when the sorority is threatened by Dean Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis). Viewers can also expect a major murder mystery including the unknown “Red Devil” character. Fans of “Pretty Little Liars” should definitely check out this show.

The horror-comedy premiered on September 22 on FOX with new episodes every Tuesday at 9:00 p.m.

Forbes calls ABC’s new thriller series “Quantico,” “one of the most feminist shows on-air this fall.”

“Quantico” brings something new and refreshing to the table with strong female leads at the center, such as leading Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, Palestinian actress Yasmine Al Massri, American actress Aunjaune Ellis, and Cuban-American actress Anabelle Acosta. The thriller follows young Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recruits while they also begin to train at the academy in Quantico, Virginia.

The show also flashes back to their lives before beginning training to offer good backstories.

In a flash forward, the series reveals that one of the recruits is suspected of masterminding a major terrorist attack.

“Quantico”  premiered on September 27 and airs new episodes every Sunday at 10:00 p.m.

American Horror Story: Hotel

Anothe of Ryan Murphy’s widely successful series, “American Horror Story” returns for its fifth season, which is set to be the darkest and most anticipated one yet.

The central theme of this season revolves around the lack of security created by the atmosphere of staying at a hotel.

It will star returning cast members Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Denis O’Hare, Emma Roberts, and Kathy Bates.

However, the addition of new faces such as Lady Gaga and Naomi Campbell,  will surely increase ratings as viewers will be interested to see the singer and model show off their acting skills.

“It’s about a theme and an idea that’s very close to my heart that I’ve always wanted to do that’s a little bloodier and grislier I think than anything we’ve ever done before; it’s straight horror this year,” Murphy said.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” premiered on FX on October 7, with new episodes every Wednesday at 10:00 p.m.
