Six Flags is one of the most prominent amusement parks for many teenagers in Southern California. With its thrill filled rides, welcoming atmosphere, and current technology, Six Flags constantly looks for ways to keep customers coming back.

On April 21, Six Flags revamped the classic ride Revolution with a new paint job, additional trains, and new technology in honor of the rollercoaster’s 40th anniversary.

For many, this new renovation was long awaited because of many complaints the ride has recieved about the constant banging that caused headaches and red ears.

“To be honest, Revolution was one of the rides I did not care much about because my ears would hurt a lot when I came off, but with this remodel, I can not wait to go to Six Flags. This time it will be one of the rides I do not not want to leave without riding,” senior Irene Chi said.

Along with these renovations, Revolution is now equipped with high tech goggles, which makes it North America’s first Virtual Reality rollercoaster.

“A Virtual Reality (VR) Coaster is a traditional coaster that is now equipped with cutting-edge technology to allow you to wear a wireless VR headset during the ride.  You’ll be able to feel the heart-pumping adrenaline of steep drops, inverted loops and powerful twists and turns as gyros, accelerometers and proximity sensors synchronize all of the action while viewing a remarkably realistic 360-degree virtual world,” according to the Six Flags website.

Partnering with Samsung Gear VR and Oculus, two of the biggest technology companies in America, Six Flags opens its door to a whole new design for roller coasters.

The amusement parking is working towards keeping the ride as sanitary as possible due to hundreds of people using the headsets everyday.

“I care a lot about sanitation, because I believe that it is an important factor for our health. I am glad to hear that along with making fun roller coasters, Six Flags takes our health and enjoyment into consideration,” senior Da Eun Yu said.

At the end of the day, Six Flags continues to provide people with thrilling rides and new experiences and we are left to wonder what elses Six Flags will add in the future.
