This season, the girls golf team finished with a record of 4-2, repeateing last year’s success and competing at Regional Championships on November 13.
Regionals took place at the Los Serranos GC (North) Course, wrapping up the girls golf season.
In order to qualify for Regionals, the team placed second at the LA City Championships at the Lake Balboa Golf Course on November 6. The Highlanders came in close to Palisades Charter High, losing by only nine strokes.
“I thought that we under-performed at the city championship finishing second but we rebounded by playing better as a team at the CIF state regionals,” Coach Dan Ma said.
Even from the start of the season, the girls showcased exceptional talent and dedication to the game of golf.
By having hour-and-a-half practices four days a week, the team works tirelessly to improve on all aspects of their game such as putting, driving, and their short game.
Their season started off on the right foot coming off a successful season last year. This success drove the players to work even harder in order to reach that same level of success, if not better, this season.
There were many standout moments during their season. One of these being the surprising play of one of the freshmen who made the starting six.
Next season, the team hopes to go beyond their success from this year and aims to win the LA City Championships.
