I am on the Plaid Press because I have always wanted to be behind the scenes of making a newspaper. I used to live in New York, and seeing the New York Times in the hands of everyone around me was a pivotal aspect in my life. There is a certain beauty in journalistic writing, and it is its ability to convey an event or situation to a wide range of people. For years we learn about the world around us through news, and by being in the Plaid Press, I hope I can be in the shoes of the journalists I used to read. I love covering everything surrounding literature, especially contemporary literature and it’s relevance to this day. Additionally, I love to cover topics surrounding fantasy and it’s feminist elements because so many forget how deeply feminist some fantasy stories are. The most favorite thing I have ever written was an feature article comparing “Game of Thrones” and “Knives Out” in how both medias represent female suppression, so you can definitely see what my favorite topic is! But really, I love writing about a wide range of things, but mainly, I love writing about my interests and helping that to be known to a wide range of people!
Fun fact about me: I am lactose intolerant, and the funny thing is, I went to Oregon for a school competition in 2026 of my Sophomore year and never in my life have I consumed so much cheese.
